2023 Scholarship Recipients

Sean Jaeger – $3000

Sean Jaeger is an architecture student at NJIT, with a minor in environmental science and sustainability. 

Sean received SWEA NJ Scholarship to help him fund his participation in a newly created study-abroad program in Sweden (exchange program between Sweden and the US), to learn more about sustainable architectural practice in Sweden.  The main questions focus on innovative sustainable material and exploring goals of carbon-negative architecture.

Oscar Stenmark – $2000

Oscar Stenmark is a Swedish musician living in New York City. He has a Bachelor’s degree in improvisation, a master in Jazz performance.  Oscar spreads Swedish culture by playing at events in the tri state area.  

Oscar plays trumpet, flugelhorn, and cornet.  He received SWEA NJ’s Scholarship to further improve his interpretation of Swedish music heritage using flugelhorn.  By taking lessons with Ingrid Jensen, the dean of Jazz Art at Manhattan School of Music, he would refine the art of playing flugelhorn.
